Align & Restore
A gentle class great for people new to yoga. Props and modifications make yoga available for every body. We will work on body awareness, alignment, and balancing the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.

Vinyasa Flow

A style of yoga that strings together postures while synchronizing breathing. Vinyasa classes have several different poses and often a different sequence in every type.

“The Sanskrit word Vinyasa comes from a prefix vi, which means variation, and a suffix, Nyasa, which means ‘within prescribed parameters.’”  Srivatsa Ramaswami has been a student of Krishnamacharya for more than thirty years.

He goes on to refer to classical yoga, from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, for the specific parameters:

  • Steadiness (Sthira)

  • Comfort (Sukha)

  • Smooth and Long Breathing (Prayatna Sithila)

Hatha Yoga

Hatha is a Sanskrit word that means “force” and translates very loosely to “movement or meaning.”. Hatha yoga is used for physical and mental transformation because it demands that you pay constant attention to the breath, which helps you be present in each posture.
